Literacy Foundations 6: This course is intended as a bridge for students to practice, develop, and demonstrate their basic English literacy skills, especially for those wishing to continue on to other secondary English courses from Grades 10-12. It is highly recommended for students who have been out of school for a while, who did not successfully complete secondary English, or who are coming from international backgrounds where English is not the primary language of instruction. It is not focused on developing oral language abilities, but rather on reading comprehension and written expression. In completing learning activities, students will demonstrate basic reading and writing skills through a series of activities engaging with word-based and visual texts. Good attendance and completion of assignments are essential for success.
