Food Studies 12 is an approved grade 12 elective for graduation requirements. The Big Ideas underlying FS12 include understanding how:
- Services and products can be designed through consultation and collaboration.
- Personal design interests require the evaluation and refinement of skills.
- Tools and technologies can be adapted for specific purposes.
This course involves both theory and hands-on learning. In Food Studies 12 you will develop knowledge and competencies related to nutritional sciences, food safety, testing, preparing and adapting multi-component recipes, as well as links between food and topics such as culture, justice, and regional/national policy.
